HeroHQ Accessibility Statement
OperationsHERO is committed to making HeroHQ accessible for all individuals, including those with disabilities. We emphasize inclusivity for education clients and maintenance professionals. Our approach aligns with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance.
Our Approach to Accessibility
Design Principles
Our design process uses AI UX tooling guided by accessibility commitments. We avoid relying solely on color for conveying information, instead supplementing visual cues with distinct icons or descriptive text. We use tools to ensure adequate color contrast, particularly for custom colors outside the core UI framework.
Accessible UI Framework
HeroHQ uses Chakra UI, a highly regarded and accessible component library designed with WCAG standards in mind. Benefits include:
- Semantic HTML: Components use proper semantic HTML supporting assistive technologies
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive controls are operable via keyboard without requiring a mouse
- ARIA Attributes: Components automatically apply appropriate ARIA attributes for screen reader compatibility, with proper descriptions and navigation for images and interactive controls
Continuous Improvement
Our team dedicates itself to ongoing accessibility improvements. Developers and designers receive training on accessible design practices.
Feedback and Support
User feedback drives accessibility improvements. Our support team maintains direct responsiveness to reported issues, typically addressing concerns within one week.
Known Limitations & Future Commitments
We acknowledge that we have not yet conducted formal accessibility testing with disabled individuals or extensive third-party audits. Our primary keyboard operability assurance relies on native web application functionality.
Future Plans
We are committed to enhancing accessibility through:
- Exploring formal accessibility testing methodologies and tools
- Conducting user testing with individuals of diverse abilities
- Continuously reviewing and updating internal guidelines reflecting latest accessibility best practices
